Their email forwarding falls over at high traffic times like Christmas and the New Year and their support staff aren't there to sort it out so if you need guaranteed email transmission for business or family and friends they are a dead loss

I bought several domains, webhosting package and webmail access from these guys. The process was simple enough and good pricing. The problem has come with the webmail access: - it is a poor interface, especially compared to the free email services have made - our ability to access it over the preceeding month had been poor, it has been unavailable for several days for different users, so we have had to use our non-word emails - I can't access it through Firefox and Opera is not recommendedHowever, the real shocker comes when I contacted the online web support. We went through the conversation where I informed them of the issues I've faced. They said they needed to access my email account to check this, so could they have my password. Wow, I've never had to give my ENTIRE password to anyone before. I said no, I'll give it to someone higher up (I asked for the CEO!).THEN, THE SUPPORT PERSON ASKED IS ******** YOUR PASSWORD? YES, THEY HAVE ACCESS TO OUR PASSWORDS! WHAT SORT OF OUTFIT IS THIS? I'm glad that I use very different usernames/passwords for different accounts. Call me naive, but one would have thought passwords would be heavily protected, such that even internal people can't access them. After this call I looked through the T&Cs and nothing was mentioned protecting passwords, so legally I am sure they are covered. But talk about an amateur operation.Shocked as I was, I asked for the CEO to contact me and I got an email later saying the manager had tried to contact me - how, I had received no email, missed call or voicemail. The other problem with their support is they give you three days to revert or they close the ticket and you have to start from scratch, a great system to get rid of people who are busy.I would not recommend 123-Reg to anyone.

I have three permanent domains with 123-reg and one temporary.I have two set for manual renew. When I registered the other two, the option available was only cancel or automatic renewal. I attempted many times to adjust the status of both and the website just would not take my adjustments. It just refused - didn't matter whether I used Chrome, Firefox or Safari.I received an email stating that one domain was going to expire. I assumed it would just vanish. They renewed it and refused a refund even though I contacted them within 20 minutes. This started a long email correspondence with them, during which I got the run around from somebody calling themselves "Omar" and somebody calling themselves "Trisha". I have a feeling I'm talking to somebody in Bangalore with instructions solely to prevaricate.I have contacted Paypal over this and hope that gets somewhere. Other than that I have found their office is apparently:123-reg.co.uk 5 Roundwood Avenue Stockley Park Uxbridge UB11 1FF United KingdomI have been dealing with these guys for years. They have just become really shady. I would not buy a used car off them now.I fully intend to contact UK Consumer Protection if I can find their website. Other than that, I can only recommend doing what I am doing which is transferring my domains away from these scam artists, The way they like to refuse refunds (which they are obliged to give under the UK Consumer Credit Act and Sale of Goods Act) makes them look as though they are desperately scrabbling for money and about to go under.

this company is the worst i have ever come across i have 12 domains with them , so i transferred a few when they came up for renewal . and the bastards said that they have no recollection of transferal, and they renewed it and charged me, i have a receipt that shows that my transfer was 3day before the automat renewal , and then they said it was to late and now they have taken all the money and will not refund me . and they are not interested about the proof of transferal to another company. so will not refund the money . this company is shit and the worst is that the help line, if you need help "NOW"YOU HAVE SHOT IT, the help line is absolute shit , they might get back to you 2 days later. this is a company you need to leave alone , go with some one else there are plenty to choose from without picking a bad one first , DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT . THEN BE WORNED , GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY , LIKE ,"EUKHOST","ONE.COM."DAILY.COM" AND MANY MORE BETTER THAN THIS SHIT RIP OF COMPANY

This is the worst DNS registrar I have ever used. nothing works. If you make changes their databases fail to update or throw bizarre errors. Forwarding never works. There is absolutely no support.Avoid this service like the plague.

I have been using 123-reg for over 6 years. It's easy and quick to purchase domain names and overall everything is great with them until there's an issue. I have had a problem with hosting, which I've been forced to cancel and more recently with the auto-renewal of domain names. I found that no matter how I try I'm unable to remove my card details from their site. I have had to contact them via the support site to hopefully do so.On renewals they state that you must check a box to let domains expire, that you get lots of reminder emails, etc... etc... My question is why can't they just let them expire - since this is logical and the consistent rule in my 'domain world' - with Planet Domain and Marcaria.Right now I would advise anyone to steer clear, I'm fuming.

Do not use these rip off cowboys.I had the service for a year when signing up you have to enter a credit card for auto renewal. First year cost was £56 for the year. This year it is £126 on an auto payment.I do not think that a change from £56 to £126 is a fair and reasonable price increase ( The notification of this was sent to my Spam box by my email program so I got no notice)After I complained stating this was not not a fair increase, I basically got told tough luck and there is nothing they can do.I also cannot remove my credit card details to prevent this from happening again.Very poor service and very dodgy business practice.
