Heart Internet Scoops Award as UK’s Fastest Growing Web Provider

Heart Internet is beating rival web hosting providers with quality customer service, says founder Jonathon Bealey as the company scooped the runners up spot for a major UK technology award.

Heart Internet was named the Midlands’ fastest growing technology company and second overall in accounting firm Deloitte’s annual Technology Fast 50, a ranking for the UK’s leading technology companies.

Co-founder Jonathan Bealey said he believed that customer service was key to the company’s success, rather than technology research and investment.

“The reality is that customer service is expensive, and it’s easy for businesses to think that there’s a saving to be made there,” he said. “However, that just drives your customers away. We have a great retention rate and are seeing a continuous influx of customers transferring from our competitors. Keeping us ‘sticky’ is critical to our success.”

Heart Internet was launched in 2004 by Jonathan Brealey and Tim Beresford, and provides web hosting and domain registration to individuals and businesses.

The company has grown with a ‘minimal advertising spend’, and Bealey feels the opportunity for more growth is the UK despite the effects of recession.

“We can continue to concentrate on our core business and grow organically. We’ve also seen more new SME registrations during the recession than before, so I think this is only the beginning of the trend,” he said.

Technology Fast 50 is an international study that ranks each country’s 50 fastest growing technology companies based on a percentage growth over five years.

The UK winners were Distribution Technology, software business providing sales and product solutions to financial planning companies.

UKFast, another web hosting company was listed 49th out of the 50 companies on the list.
