Following up on my previous post on How to Install WordPress on your Heart Internet account, I’ve decided to share my favorite WordPress plugins with you.
All of these plugins are free and will help you get the most out of your WordPress blog. Here it goes (in no particular order) :
- All in One SEO Pack : This plugin allows you to optimize your blog to get better ranking in SERP by adding meta tags to your posts, specifying a different document title than the post, etc.
- Custom Query String Reloaded : This plugin allows you to set the number of post per page depending on various conditions (homepage, archive, specific category, etc.)
- Feedburner Feedsmith : Publish your blog’s RSS feed through Google Feedburner.
- Get Recent Comments : Display the latest user comments on your blog.
- Google XML Sitemaps : Automatically generate an XML sitemap from your blog posts and pages and submits it to major search engines.
- Popularity Contest : Calculates each post’s popularity based on various factors and displays them on your blog.
- Recent Posts (requires Post-Plugin Library) : Display a list of all your recent posts.
- Postie : Allows you to post by email with more advanced features than WordPress’ built-in functionnality.
- Recent Posts (requires Post-Plugin Library) : Display a list of all the latest posts on your blog.
- Related Posts (requires Post-Plugin Library) : Display a list of related posts based on tags.
- Show Top Commentators : Encourage your visitors to comment your posts with this plugin.
- Social Bookmarks : Help your visitors to share your posts on social networks Digg and StumbleUpon.
- TinyMCE Advanced : Expand WordPress’ editor with new tools and features.
- WordPress Duplicate Content Cure : Adds the “no index” meta tag to your archive pages to avoid duplicate content penalty.
